241 Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler works with the Master Scheduler to ensure production work orders are prioritized and issued to production in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will apply their knowledge and experience of work order management along with a high level of engagement within the Supply Chain, Manufacturing and QC/QA teams to ensure errors are minimized and production targets are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and release work orders to meet product demand generated by the Production Master Schedule
  • Ensure planned work order quantities result in an efficient and achievable production schedule
  • Review upcoming work order material requirements and escalate identified shortages to appropriate supply chain personnel
  • Manage priority of material inspection and release to production through the Receiving, QC, and QA departments
  • Actively participate in the weekly production planning meeting to communicate and review production requirements with manufacturing and inventory personnel
  • Assist with continuous improvement by providing feedback on current planning and work order management systems and processes
  • Other planning related tasks as assigned

Relationships

  • Reports to the Master Scheduler
  • Works closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Materials Handling, Engineering Change Control, QC/QA

Education & Experience

  • Diploma level accreditation in Production Planning and Control or Materials Management
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of forecasting and planning models and materials management systems
  • Experience working in highly regulated manufacturing environments such as ISO 13485 or AS9100C preferable
  • Hands-on experience working with Production Planning and Work Orders in an MRP/ERP environment
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting as well as familiarity with database applications an asset
