As the UX Designer, you will work with cross-functional teams to effectively design and communicate the safe and efficient use of the Globe, our trademark device. Critical to this role is the ability to understand, analyze, and communicate complex material clearly to healthcare professionals while maintaining an elegant user interface, efficient user experience, and compliance with regulatory standards, standard operating procedures, and industry best practices.

What you’ll do…

  • Develop and optimize task flows and wireframes based on user needs in collaboration with product management and engineering teams
  • Develop, document, and maintain UI/UX specifications
  • Communicate screen designs, interaction models and end-to-end experiences to other members of the project team
  • Optimize the human-computer interface element of designs
  • Work with (contract) UI Designers to implement understandable and attractive designs
  • Work with the human factors team to assess the effectiveness and safety of existing and proposed UI designs
  • Work with the human factors and risk teams to minimize use errors
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, visual designers and the software development team to incorporate a visual or brand identity into the end product
  • Compare the user experience of existing applications and work to design better alternatives
  • Keep current with industry trends and competitor products, and communicate new design prototypes and ideas to stakeholders.

  • A degree in design, sciences, or engineering with additional courses/experience in UX design, or an equivalent level of related experience
  • Experience developing UI specifications in a regulated industry, preferably for medical devices
  • Strong interviewing and research skills coupled with a strong attention to detail
  • Previous experience with or exposure to content management
  • A well-developed ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work on several projects concurrently
  • The ability to manage changes and changing priorities effectively
  • The aptitude for working within a regulated environment.
